The SVA Learning Events being run by the Social Enterprise Academy for the Single Interfaces begin, with the first of four, in Aberdeen on Friday the 27th of August. These events are tasked to develop Business Plans for the Single Interfaces which have to be delivered to the Scottish Government by November. As highlighted in the flyer, all costs will be reimbursed and the Academy will also be rewarding attendees with an Award in Leadership (ILM Level 5). So far Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee SENs have been invited to attend. The SENs study visits continue to be a success. To build on this we are organising a series of visits to innovative social enterprises across the country that will be open to all SEN members. If there is somewhere you would like to go and see please get in touch and we will see if we can match you up with other interested parties and organise a visit. Diane met with John Fellows, Big Lottery in Scotland this week to learn how community based sports organisations can tap into these funds.Although they plan to provide more hands on support, the message loud and clear is that if you don't fit at least one objective under Investing in Communities, then don't apply. John was keen to stress that Investing in Ideas is more readily available to explore plans. For Growing Community Assets organisations must own or plan to own the asset they want to take over. But it’s worth noting that from this summer, Local Authorities no longer need Ministerial approval to dispose of assets to communities below market value. It should be interesting to see how this affects Govanhill Baths Community Clubs who hope to acquire the asset from Glasgow City Council.  http://www.senscot.net/networks1st/shownotice.php?articleid=261
