Food & Drink Research SSEC At our recent intermediary members’ meeting, I mentioned that the Coalition and Queen Margaret University were trying to get some funding to do a piece of research scoping the size of the economic contribution social enterprises make to Scotland’s food and drink industry. I’m really pleased to say that we have received a small funding grant from the Scottish Funding Council to undertake this research.
This will be very useful for us in our campaigning work in the run up to the Scottish elections, because we know that there are social enterprises working in at least 7 different areas of the industry, namely: food cultivation, processing, recycling, retail, catering, education, distribution and consultancy etc, delivering outcomes such as health improvement, local food production, the green agenda etc
Hence why the Coalition needs your help. To help us do this research in a low work way, I’d be really grateful if you would consider doing the following:
·Putting together a list of your members working in food
·Letting us have the organisation names ONLY, just so we will have a central list which will show who has or hasn’t completed a survey.
·Sending out a survey monkey link to these members on our behalf
·Finally sending two reminders. We will be looking at prizes etc!
