Single Interface update: Renfrewshire Interface informs us of a social enterprise toolkit they have developed, with SKS Scotland, that is proving popular with local organisations. Also, we hear from Stirlingshire that the Interface is providing some ongoing admin support to the emerging local SEN. This adds to last week’s list of Interfaces where some real and tangible engagement has been taking place....more

Networks1st Update: Friday 21st January 2011
As you will be aware, the Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) are taking shape across the country. Senscot is encouraging SENs to make direct contact with their respective TSIs, if they have not done so already. Some are already well integrated into the process. Where SENs do not yet exist, Senscot will be contacting TSIs directly to encourage full engagement with local social enterprises so as to ensure the successful delivery of the 'social enterprise development' function. This week I attended an event on Procurement Reform, hosted by Scottish Govt. The public sector spends around £8 billion a year and Scottish Govt has been working with key stakeholders from both the buyer and supplier communities to deliver a more standardised approach to pre-qualification procedures in public procurement – a Standard Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (SPQQ). This would address inconsistencies in practice; duplication of effort; and disproportionate procedures. The new SPQQ will be linked to Public Contracts Scotland – the draft SPQQ is currently out for consultation with a deadline of 11th February for feedback.
