Job Role : To manage facilities and administrative services in order to support business success for Transition Extreme Sports Ltd, whilst also providing appropriate ‘duty manager’ cover for the seven day operation of the Centre. This role will require an element of shift work on a rota basis, including weekends. To ensure effective management of IT, HR, H&S and facilities; the planning, development and monitoring of support services and management of support staff, including commissioning and delegation of relevant activities.

Organisation Profile : Transition Extreme is in the business of assisting children & young people to make positive life transitions. As a leading Aberdeen-based youth charity and social enterprise, we do this by providing a wide range of innovative sports, creative arts, diversionary, employability, educational and enterprise activities. Our Extreme Sports Centre, now attracting over 100,000 visitors per annum, provides iconic world class, year round indoor & outdoor facilities including; rock climbing, a high ropes course, BMX & dirt track, in-line skating, skateboarding, a band practice room, martial arts facilities, creative arts zone, event, conference and meeting space, retail and cafe/community facilities. Transition Extreme is a fabulous community asset used by a wide range of people and groups – from schools and community groups to families and businesses. Located in the prime leisure and recreational area of Aberdeen Beach, the Centre is ideally located as an adrenaline-packed facility. It acts as a major tourist attraction for the area, drawing national and international sporting events & providing an ideal setting as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’. Since opening our doors in 2007, we have striven to give young people opportunities, challenges and experiences that help them as they make transitions into adulthood and will stay with them for a lifetime. In the last twelve months we have significantly increased our outreach and educational programmes within Aberdeen City & Shire, built school & community group participation and piloted curriculum for excellence solutions in partnership with the University of Aberdeen. We have launched a new outdoor high ropes course and dirt jumps track on the derelict ‘bowling green’ site adjacent to the Centre on Links Road, as well as completing a significant upgrade in the indoor Climbing Centre in order to retain our status as a regional centre of excellence and meet increased demand for the sport. Performance Highlights 97,500 Unique Membership Registrations (Annual & Day) Over 140,500 climbing admissions (32,500 under 16yrs of age) Over 195,000 skatepark admissions, (14,000+beginner and coached sessions) 75+ regular Schools from Aberdeen City & Shire for active schools, activity week & CfE Over 830 community group sessions, 4200+ disengaged/disadvantaged young people, 70+ community groups from the Regeneration Areas of the City & Shire 100+ different Corporate Clients using the Centre for Teambuilding sessions, health promotion 12 Full time and +45 part time jobs created Alternative & Extreme Academies - 90 participants in 2 years, 90% onto positive destination. Outreach – 5 projects attracting 120 young people per week per 8 week project. Youth Club – 15 participants per week over 40 weeks Activity Agreements – 5 young people per week Wide range of high impact health, diversionary and inclusion projects since 2007
