Scotiability

Scotiability is a Fife based company set up in 2010 by Andrew Laker in association with Brag Enterprises Ltd (http://www.brag.co.uk). Andrew is a 53 year old retired Police Chief Inspector who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002. His personal involvement with the Forth and Tay Disabled Ramblers revealed the many difficulties disabled people can face when travelling within the UK. These manifold transport and accessible accommodation issues often result in disabled people staying at home rather than face the challenges they are forced to overcome.

Andrew set up Scotiability to try to remove these hurdles by creating a comprehensive database of disabled friendly facilities in Scotland. Scotiability will provide personally endorsed holiday packages to the disabled community and their families.

Scotiability will promote and endorse any premises in Scotland who provide accessible facilities for the disabled community.  This may be in the form of accommodation such as a holiday chalet or hotel, a taxi/bus service with the capability to carry wheelchairs or an event/attraction which can accommodate disabled visitors.

The only commitment we require is that service providers must allow a member of our disabled staff to visit their premises to record precisely the facilities available. On successful completion we will include that information in our database enabling us to match the visitors exact requirements with the most appropriate facilities.
