Bolt FM: Community radio at the heart of North Glasgow

Established over 3 years ago and based at St Paul's church in North Glasgow, Bolt FM serves the community of Royston, Blackhill, Germiston, Provanmill, Rob Royston, Barmulloch, Sighthill, Springburn and beyond.

The aim of the station is to BOLT communities together and promote local services to residents in these areas. We also provide opportunities for young people to present their own radio programmes. So between the 11th & 24th October tune into as we go live on 106.7FM with a host of new faces many of whom will be their first ever broadcast.

There have been 30 young people training to take part in the broadcast which centres around the Royston Road Communities in North East Glasgow. Bolt FM is a youth led radio station, by young people for young people, working in partnership with Fablevision to create truly community radio. Other partners include North Glasgow College, Northern Rock and Toonspeak young peoples theatre. Ages of DJs being trained range from 9 - 29. A variety of music and debates will take place including local police and young people talking about the policing strategy for the area as well as reviews of both local and national events.

Many young people from the area have been working hard learning how to use the equipment so get behind the station by being involved.

We want to hear from you if you have an event, meeting or fundraiser. Do you want to request a song, it's your birthday, anniversary or your celebrating your divorce we want to know about it.

Also tune in to win some fantastic prizes or hear local voices you know on the tranny.

Finally tells what you think good or bad because this helps BOLT FM build on being the best community radio station in Glasgow.

BOLT FM wishes to acknowledge the support of:- The Royston Road Project and National Lottery Awards For All who have helped to fund this community radio broadcast.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to:-

All of the Bolt FM Board Members, St Paul's Parish Church, Northern Rock Festival Group, North Glasgow College
