The GCIL Equality Academy
The GCIL Equality Academy is a social enterprise, with equality at the core of all its services - providing training, consultancy, and organisational development services to all sectors.
The GCIL Equality Academy is a new venture for Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living, which is funded in part by the BIG Lottery Fund. The Equality Academy aims to build and expand on the employment programmes and services developed by GCIL, this will be achieved by combining an employment capacity building programme for disabled people with a consultancy, training, organisational development and market research facility, which will serve the private, public and third sector.
Since 2001, GCIL Employment has developed several innovative programmes and services to empower disabled people within the employment market. And over the next three years, the Equality Academy will expand on this by providing a further 15 new employment opportunities and 45 internship opportunities for disabled graduates across Scotland; coupled with a support service providing information, advice and training to assist disabled people back into work.
The GCIL Equality Academy will be launching this new range of services on the 24th April, 6.00pm-8.00pm, at 29 Studios, 84 Miller Street.
