Mind’s Well’s aim is to reduce the need for people to resort to self-harming behaviours such as drug and alcohol abuse, eating problems, self-medication, self-injury and other such behaviours.
It offers a range of educational and support services tailored to meet participants’ needs and budget. Self-harm courses, help for those self-harming and their families and advice on safe self-harm. Mind Well’s approach is consistent with that set out by NICE guidelines and Scottish Government, based on self-management, empowerment, compassion and respect for the individual.
Mind's Well believes that people from all walks of life should have access to quality learning opportunities in order to improve their mental health and wellbeing and that of those around them.
So far they have trained more than 800 people across the UK. People who attended came from all walks of life, across sectors and from a multitude of organisations and backgrounds. Some of them included: West Lothian Council; Forth Valley College; CHANGES; East Renfrewshire Carers Centre; Lanarkshire Links; RAMH; Borders College; Perth & Kinross Council; Moray Council; WEYES; Loretto Care; Perth College; PKAVS; Health in Mind; Drumhar Health Centre; Princess Royal Trust Lanarkshire Carers Centre; Queen Victoria School; Motor-Neuron Disease Association; Waverly Care and many more....
Mind's Well is a non for profit organisation that generates income from their range of course and programmes – that include: self-harm training; workshops; consultancy and support in order to reach those who are most vulnerable.
All profits are reinvested into their projects.
