Recycle Mobility Centre

Recycle Mobility Centre (RMC) began trading in March 2014 and is based in Clydebank. It is a registered social enterprise with the aim of providing new, but predominantly second-hand refurbished mobility equipment.

Repairs and maintenance

RMC currently offers a variety of quality refurbished mobility equipment with a 3 month guarantee on all stock sold. It also offers an affordable repair and maintenance service. Repair prices start from £35 with full servicing from £50. Their service technicians have a friendly approach and are only too happy to answer any mobility queries you may have and will do their utmost to help. All technicians are fully qualified and continue to develop their knowledge and skills by attending training courses and events thus keeping up to date with new products and services coming into the market.

As an organisation Recycle Mobility Centre has been partly set up to meet the financial crises faced by many disabled/elderly people due to the recent changes being introduced through the welfare reforms in June 2014.

Access to affordable equipment

To counteract this, RMC’s service focuses primarily on providing people with access to affordable equipment and a repair and maintenance service which will actively help maintain disabled/elderly people’s daily living activities such as shopping, accessing their place of work and accessing social and leisure activities. They aim to be a life line to those hardest hit providing services that will help people play a more active role in their community and bring about positive change.

For those affected by unemployment, RMC aims to provide a work place experience to disadvantaged youths and adults furthest from the job market with the opportunity to develop new skills in technical repairs.

Volunteering

By volunteering each individual will have the opportunity to learn new skills, gain confidence, self-esteem and the ability to take responsibility for their own development. It is envisaged that the skills learned and the learning process will help improve employment prospects and enhance lives. All training will be based on the individual needs.
