The Prestoungrange Gothenburg (The Goth)
The Prestoungrange Gothenburg (affectionately known as The Goth), situated in Prestonpans, East Lothian, is a Grade II listed building with over 100 years of history to its name.
The Goth serves home-made meals in their bistro and bar and have Real Ales available which are brewed onsite in its own micro-brewery. It is a community hub and home to The Battle of Prestonpans HQ, The Prestoungrange Arts Festival as well as a temporary base for the 3 Harbours Arts Festival. They have regular live music sessions every Saturday night as well as monthly open folk sessions in the bar on the first Sunday of every month and you'll often find Clarks Community Choir singing a popular tune or two. There is always regular art exhibitions on display from local artists - sculpture, paintings, pottery.
They also have wonderful function rooms available for hire which can seat 8-120 people with disabled access throughout.
The Goth aims to provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where you can come and enjoy excellent food, fine wines, real ales, local arts and culture.
The Gothenburg Principle: 95% of the profits return to the community of Prestonpans through the arts. The profits from the Goth are gifted to the Prestoungrange Arts Festival which has to date, completed over 56 murals in Prestonpans and runs the Prestonpans Murals Trail. Many of the murals can be found in the Goth (on the bar ceiling and in the gardens at the back).
The Prestoungrange Arts Festival Charity + The Gothenburg Principles
Their purpose is to research and communicate, in print and through the arts, the thousand year history of the Baronies of Prestoungrange and Dolphinstoun and the ancient burgh of Prestonpans.
Their determination is to be an inclusive, creative and respectfulcommunity which grows in self-esteem as they celebrate together the outstanding contribution their forebears made and openly share their heritage with all their visitors and tourists. In so doing, they know that they are assisting the continuing improvement of the socio-economic wellbeing of their whole community. Under their Courts charitable status and their Gothenburg principles at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg all surpluses achieved are used for the betterment of their community.
