Nursery Needs

Nursery Needs is a social enterprise, based in Kilsyth, that specialises in the collection and refurbishment of children’s nursery equipment, ready for re-sale to families in the local community and other social groups. It takes in donations of prams, cots, toys and other nursery equipment; our employees then clean the goods up to an extremely high standard, ready for selling in our shop. The enterprise’s main aims are to provide employment for people who can often find it difficult to access paid work; to help families on low income by supplying equipment at an affordable price; and also to reduce the amount of waste which goes to the landfills. The project is run by two project workers and four members of staff with learning difficulties.  The stock available includes cots; prams; buggies; and toys.

Nursery Needs is operated by the charity, Watch US Grow – whose primary aim is tobuild employability skills with the people they work with. This means working with adults with special needs in their garden, carrying out various jobs in the garden to build these skills.
Watch US Grow is also very active in the local community - planning and attending lots of plant sales throughout the year at various locations in the Cumbernauld area. Their plant sales continue to developing the work of Watch Us Grow.
