The Furniture Project (Tayside)

Crisis situations can arise for anyone at any time. Whatever the reason, the Furniture Project aims to provide good quality household goods that best match the needs of individuals and families, mother and baby.

On average we deliver to over 110 families in crisis every month.

First established in 1996, the Furniture Project (Tayside) is a recognised
charity and a company limited by guarantee.

The Furniture Project (Tayside) is a partnership organisation and incorporates:

• The Dundee Furniture Project

• The Furniture Project, Perth & Kinross

• The Furniture Recycling Project Angus

Collectively, these organisations strive to build working partnerships with other like-minded organisations in the local area.

The main purpose of the Tayside Project is to collect donations of unwanted furniture, electrical and other household goods from the general public.

Once safety checked, we redistribute life’s essentials to families and individuals in need who have been referred to us by social work, housing services, health visitors, community workers and other referring agencies.

By taking a dedicated approach to re-use and recycling, we also help to prevent thousands of tonnes of furniture going to waste at landfill sites across the area.

Our Staff Teams

The Furniture Project Tayside staff team is made up of both paid employees and volunteers.. A big plus is that we are ideally placed to offer training and employment to people who, for various reasons, may be excluded from mainstream opportunities.
If you have time to spare, why not volunteer?

Working in Partnership

In maximising the service that we provide, we work in partnership with many other
local organisations. The Furniture Project Tayside is also part funded by
Transforming Waste Scotland, The Big Lottery Fund, Angus Council, Dundee City
Council, Perth & Kinross Council, Perth & Kinross Quality of Life Trust and
donations from members of the public.
