Ultra Deejay Skool

  • DJ/Production Workshops.
  • Learning and teaching the art of mixing music within the community

As an Art Form, D.J`s have been a huge source of inspiration for a whole generation.

Currently underfunded and undervalued within the community

With little form of support available, in particular in socially excluded areas

The workshops/classes will empower young people to seek employment within the community, wherever there is a need to generate a musical, artistic atmosphere - creating the soundtrack to our neighbourhoods.

The classes will run in conjunction with SQA in developing modules in the Music, Audio and Technological Field and offering a recognised qualification as an incentive.

The Skool will develop young people`s enterprise potential and skills through co-operation. It will encourage them to work in groups and gain confidence, skills and ideas about their own career opportunities, their communities and environment.

The project intends to promote a service that will engage with young people via their interest in the music, entertainment and cultural industries.

The project believes that young people will feel and behave more confidently through their experience with the Skool. They will have a greater sense of themselves will act more responsibly in their personal life, their work and within their communities.

The project is structured to encourage young people to work and learn together, share aspirations and to develop ideas and plan actions jointly. Through this experience, they will gain trust and will be able to recognise their own, their community`s and peers capabilities and values.
