Wellhouse Community Trust

The community of Wellhouse is located within the Greater Easterhouse area of Glasgow, is made up of around 1100 households and is one of the most deprived wards in Scotland. Well house Community Trust was established in 2003 in response to the needs of the area and to give a focus to the regeneration of the area. To date the Trust operates two facilities: the hub, and Innerzone. The hub provides advice and support to local residents through the promotion and development of training and employment initiatives, while Innerzone is a youth facility which provides a host of activities that have been designed through consultations with the young people of the area.

The trust is currently limited in its trading activity, although they recognise the need to work towards some degree of self sufficiency through the generation of income. Plans are currently being developed to open a sports facility 'Hub Sports' to complement existing activity and it is envisaged that this will be a major income generator for the Trust.

The Trust is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status and is a not for private profit organisation.

Membership of the trust is open to individuals, and local community groups who live or operate within the area of benefit. The Board of Directors is directly elected by and from the membership.
