Set up in 2006, Glasgow based Community InfoSource is a group of individuals from different backgrounds working together for a more inclusive Scotland, using their skills experiences and expertise to support individuals, communities, and organisations.
The services provided by the company are diverse and cover:
Administrative support for your group or idea: to meet the demands of running a business. Community InfoSource can take over the set-up, administration, and book-keeping of your community group, business, or not-for-profit organisation, for the long term or for short periods of time when you have specific difficulties.
Organisational development: help to draw up a budget, decide on a constitution, memorandum and articles, or register to become a community interest company. Support to develop of policies, a business plan, a marketing strategy, a grant application or a fundraising strategy.
Organisational training: health checks and training needs analysis of staff, volunteers, management committee or Board of Directors. The company can develop and deliver targeted training on: roles and responsibilities, marketing, fundraising, business planning, and improving your systems.
Skills development: training sessions and learning activities are devised, developed, and delivered by the people most affected. Current partnerships include Human Rights and the media co-op to produce multi media training materials for refugee and migrant community organisations, tenants groups and for housing service providers.
Support to housing organisations and housing service providers; specialist input in relation to refugee or migrant strategies or services, including training for frontline staff, and much more.
Research: into a wide range of issues that affect people's access to services, rights, or opportunities.
Arts: poetry, short-story, and calligraphy workshops. We hold poetry performances and develop community plays. We are involved with publishing small books of poetry and co-ordinating their sales at particular events.
