MiMAC-Rushes is a community interest film, video and media access company, providing a range of services that offer support and mentoring for independent filmmaking, emerging talent and enables public access to moving image resources. MiMAC-Rushes community interest company (C.I.C.) status means that our profits do not go to shareholders but are re-invested into new resources and projects for the benefit of the community.

MiMAC Rushes is a membership-based organisation and their services are for the benefit of members and the community they represent. A key strand of this is our facility hire service and membership of MiMAC-Rushes is a condition of hiring equipment.

MiMAC-Rushes offers 5 key services. These include an equipment facility hire service for pro video camcorders, microphone kits and lighting kits. This will shortly include steadycam, jib and tracks. Their camera hire service is presently based around the Canon XL in SD and HD but we are planning to include the complete range of HDV and HDCAM kit. They hire edit suites both static and portable and are constantly upgrading our kit and programmes. They can supply full production crew and postproduction operatives.

MiMAC-Rushes is a pioneer of moving image education within the schools and community sector and offers animation, news and drama in addition to teacher training within the Curriculum for Excellence. Their training work extends to socially excluded communities and includes special needs and the prison service, where media engagement and the skills inherent have many positive benefits.

As a film company run by filmmakers, they have a strong production track record that includes television and cinema awards. They are active in fiction drama, documentary, corporate and event capture.

A key element of the company is Rushes, where through monthly screenings and an annual film festival we mentor and promote the work of the independent film sector in Scotland.
MiMAC-Rushes works with schools and a range of community organisations in delivering moving image educational projects covering animation, newsgathering and drama. They have a specialised Schools Project Developer and all our Tutors hold Enhanced Disclosures. They can also help you with funding, so do contact us even if your organisations has no funds for this type of activity.
