Rainbow Turtle

Rainbow Turtle was set up in Paisley in 2002 by a group of friends concerned with the promotion and development of fair trade. Their objective is to raise public awareness of fair trade and encourage more people to buy fairly traded products. The organisation has two distinct areas of activity Rainbow Turtle Charity and Rainbow Turtle Just Trading

The trading company promotes fair trade at its shop in Gauze Street in Paisley

The shop stocks a diverse range of goods from foods to clothes to crafts and jewellery.  The shop relies on the support of its volunteers. There are several ways in which you can become involved as a volunteer.

The shop has been host to several producers of fair trade goods which has encouraged the volunteers and motivates us to continue with our mission to fight world poverty through trade.

The trading company is also involved in a number of other related activities:

Supplying stalls on a sale or return basis to organisations or taking stalls to events.

Supplying schools with fairly traded foodstuffs and crafts for tuck shops, staff rooms, coffee mornings and other special events.

Supplying offices and other places of work with fairtrade beverages and snacks for staff

Renfrewshire is working towards Fairtrade Zone Status and Rainbow Turtle can help other organisations become part of the process.
