Kinetic is a developmental organisation that specialises in creating unique and innovative client centred experiences and products. Their work is split down two different lines, community and commercial. The community side involves the following activities;
Youth Theatre Fife is now Fife-wide with a total of 9 youth theatres currently up and running, in Buckhaven, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Kennoway.
The theatres are curriculum and performance taught. This allows for a disciplined way of learning, while simultaneously developing new skills in a practical setting. The first year of teaching will look at storytelling as an art form; street theatre; and using drama as a social tool, to uncover an underlying message.
In 2008 they produced 12 different theatre productions with young people in 7 locations across Scotland and worked with the Royal National theatre, Aberdeen International Children’s Festival ant the Arts & Theatres Trust, Fife.
A strategic partnership of Kinetic, Fife Police, Fife Fire & Rescue service & Fife Council provides resources and leadership to support new activities specifically targeting young people participating in, or at risk of participating in Anti Social Behaviour in Levenmouth.
The team is responsible for guiding and delivering the services below and offers a consistency to young people that facilitates the building of positive relationships which is the key component in changing behaviour. The team supports the young people to take ownership of their opportunities encouraging them to look after and develop community resources rather than destroying them.
Growing Your Own
They are in the process of formalising our Growing Your Own program with the development of the Kinetic Youth Work academy (YWA). The outputs of the program are cohorts of energised and enthusiastic young people who are, trained and experienced young workers fit for building relationships with their young people in local youth work settings.
The project uses mountain biking a means to work with gang members from across Levenmouth engaging them in positive activities and encouraging mediation, teamwork and individual responsibility. This project will improve local communities be engaging young people positively in positive activities and will provide a positive alternative to anti social behaviour in Levenmouth.
