Recycling Paint in your community
Last year 400 million litres of paint (retail and trade) were sold in the UK. Of this, it is estimated that approximately 56 million litres are unused, stored in homes or garages or just thrown away. That’s enough paint to fill 22 Olympic-sized swimming pools and almost 78,500 tonnes of waste that will probably end up in landfill sites!
RePaint Scotland provides a solution to this problem by providing an outlet for unwanted reusable paint thus saving it going to landfill. We see 'waste paint' as a valuable resource (as long as it’s reusable) so do your bit for the environment and your local community by donating your paint to us!
We are committed to helping local communities and individuals and donate 20% of our recycled paint products each year to organisations that need paint to support and enable disadvantaged and/or disaffected individuals and families.
We will also supply quality, low cost paint to the community at large through monthly
Recycled Paint Product sales at the Factory Shop in Ibrox.
RePaint Scotland is a member of the ‘Community RePaint’ national network www.communityrepaint.org.uk which, in 2008:
• collected 450,000 litres of paint from householders, businesses, manufacturers and retailers (which otherwise would of ended up in landfill)
• with a market value of over £1.75 million
• redistributed over 250,000 litres of paint to community groups, charities, voluntary organizations and those in social need.
