Universal Comedy began in 2004 and deliver unique comedy workshops and training courses for people experiencing the downside of ill health, depression and anxiety, employment problems or anyone who would benefit from a laugh
The charity and emerging social enterprise was founded and is managed by people with long-term physical ill health problems.
With this insight, they understand the personal and employment difficulties that people with similar problems face. They are also aware about how difficult it can be to meet make new friends, or access vocational and community education training courses. That's why their comedy workshops and courses have been developed to help those suffering from ill health and mental well being problems to regain their confidence, meet new people and learn new skills.
They have worked with many Health, Social Care and Employability Agencies (HSCE) to deliver workshops and courses and really make a difference to anyone facing health inequality problems.
Their services include:
• Taster sessions, Comedy workshops and Developmental Training courses
• Workshops for Your Business & Your Staff
• Performances, Partners and Events
The workshops and courses are hosted by professional comedic tutors from the world of professional stand-up and are designed to help you lift self-esteem, improve confidence, learn new skills, meet new people and socialise.
Taking things at your own pace, Universal Comedy can help you rediscover the lighter side of life in a safe, sensitive and friendly environment
