Ladywood Leisure Centre

Ladywood Leisure Centre is a community managed facility in Penicuik, Midlothian, run as a social enterprise by the Penicuik Community, Sport and Leisure Foundation. Operating principles and values
Three principles guide the Board's policy for the Centre in addition to the objects of the Foundation's constitution.
- We are inclusive; we turn no-one away and endeavour to support those of our fellow citizens and organizations who request our help or whose needs can be identified.
- We aim to provide a friendly and helpful service to Penicuik people which is in tune with our mission statement "Run by Penicuik people for Penicuik people".
- We pay our way. We strive to balance expenditure and earned income. Although we have received a considerable amount of grant awards, these has been for one-off or capital projects to make us more efficient and effective in what we do. Our earned income covers our running costs and the excess is re-invested, as decided by the Board, the better to enhance the services we offer .

The facility is supported and used by community groups, individuals and educational establishments amongst others. They currently welcome some 1500 users per week and are keen to develop the facility in order to expand the range of activities which address those health and wider community wellbeing issues in the Town on which they can expect to have a genuine impact.
